Why is Marian Street Theatre so important?

Marian Street Theatre is an iconic 300 seat theatre with a rich history, owned by Ku-ring-gai Council and situated perfectly next to Killara Railway Station, local shops and a leafy park.

Until 2001 it was the home of the well-loved Marian Street Theatre Company, and from then until 2013 continued as the home for Marian Street Theatre for Young People.

The building itself has a long history in the community dating from 1906. Well-known artistic directors such as John Krummel have staged many award-winning productions at the theatre, and numerous actors, technicians, directors and producers began their career here.

Marian Street Theatre has huge potential as a performing arts and community hub, a venue for theatre, musicals, classical music, opera and more.
