Applications sought for Marian Street Theatre committee The Council is looking for up to four community-based members for a committee that will provide feedback on the design of the new theatre.
The Council voted in June this year to start work on reopening the theatre at 2 Marian Street Killara. The Marian Street Theatre Community Reference Committee will have the two goals of providing advice and feedback on the theatre’s design and management model and assist the Council in understanding community expectations for the project.
Applications are open for up to four community members including representatives of the Save Marian Street Theatre group until Friday 7 September.
Mayor Anderson said applicants should be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of performing arts facilities and be prepared to work cooperatively with other committee members and the Council.
“The committee will play an important role in contributing input into the design and management model for the new theatre.”
“Committee members will work closely with the Council on this exciting project. Initial steps will include developing a feasibility study and business case, prior to the development of concept designs and the development application process”.
